Gujarat Infotech Limited (GIL®) has been appointed as “Gram-Seva Kendra Partner” by BSNL. GIL® will be responsible for setting up BSNL Broadband Gram-Seva Kendra at 1988 specified Rural locations in Gujarat, With a view to rural development, and with a view to develop rural entrepreneurship, GIL® will appoint local “BSNL Broadband Gram-Seva Kendra Associate ” at each location. The Kendra will be similar to CSC (Citizen Service Center) Multitude of citizen services are proposed to be provided to the villagers.

BSNL Gram Seva project will garner and harness the power of youth, women and people at large while providing various IT and Non-IT services and making their life smoother than earlier. The project aims at facilitating and promoting efficient and effective services that will provide greater opportunities to the people in the rural areas. The project’s agenda is to remove all social inequalities and empowering the people in rural areas by enabling them to interact with a lot of available IT and Non-IT services while also making them economically self reliant.

The scope of opportunities cover a wide spectrum of IT and Non-IT services of formal and non-formal employment for men, women and youth ranging from Data Entry work, Railway and Airline Tickets, Mobile Top Ups, Shopping E-Trading, Bill Payments, e-Learning, Tutorials, Insurance, Web Surfing, Video Conferencing, CD-Burning, Typing, Scanning, Printing, Seasonal Stores and Government Examinations Form filling.
